Other Ways To Attend

With many paths available for graduate study, we encourage you to review alternative options and partnerships that UCR has formed with foreign institutions.

Concurrent Enrollment

Offered by UCR Extension, lets you take courses without formal admission to UCR as a graduate student. This is a great way to satisfy pre-reqs or take graduate level courses to demonstrate your ability to succeed in a graduate program due to questionable undergraduate performance. You can transfer 8 units at most with approval from the graduate program and Graduate Division. Check with the graduate program you are interested in for more information regarding taking graduate level coursework based on your academic history. Admission is not guaranteed when graduate level coursework is taken through UCR Extension.

Graduate Transfer

It is not possible to transfer from a graduate program at another institution to UCR.  You would apply as a new graduate student. You may be able to apply coursework and transfer credits. Review and recommendation from the graduate program is required before seeking Graduate Division's approval. Transfer of credit will need to be reviewed by the graduate program and Graduate Academic Affairs. If you are International and on an F-1 visa with an active SEVIS record, transferring your I-20 would be possible.
