Graduate Student Management System

Purpose

The project aims to streamline and centralize the management of graduate student funding and employment at UCR through the development of a single system: the Graduate Student Management System (GSMS). This comprehensive solution will:

Provide a single platform to manage fellowships, scholarships, fees, awards, and employment hiring.

Unify graduate student admissions and funding processes, replacing current tools such as GradSIS and GradESS.

Streamline the hiring process for various graduate student positions, including Teaching Assistants, Graduate Student Researchers, Readers, Graders, and Tutors.

Thanks to your feedback, work is underway to improve the Admissions module. Please view the GSMS release notes for a detailed list of applied fixes and enhancements. Create user-friendly applications that integrate seamlessly with existing UCR systems like Banner and Slate to ensure data consistency and streamline workflows.

Improve visibility into funding commitments, employment processes, and compliance with bargaining unit agreements.

Reduce Administrative Burden

Automate workflows and integrate systems to minimize manual efforts and reduce administrative overhead for departments and the Graduate Division.

Provide robust tools for tracking student funding, graduate student employment, and compliance metrics, enabling better decision-making and oversight.
