UCR GradEdge/JumpStart Summer Program

AGEP Group Photo Fall 2011

UCR is located in one of the most ethnically diverse areas of the country and has the most diverse undergraduate population in the UCR system. UCR is also the fastest growing campus in the UC system, increasing from 8,382 students in 1995-96 to over 22,000 in 2015-16. The UCR's GradEdge/JumpStart program takes full advantage of the shifting demographics of the university to significantly increase the participation of under-represented students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics graduate programs.

The program is designed to help incoming graduate students get a head start on their graduate student experience.  As such, the 8-week summer program combines developmental seminars, community building activities, research activities, and guidance in the NSF GRFP application.
